New Nissan Leaf priced from €34,995

Nissan has today confirmed Irish pricing for the anticipated new Leaf, which lands on showroom floors in the coming weeks with a starting price of €34,995.

Nissan dealers are now taking pre-orders and booking test drives for the new model, which has been re-imagined as a crossover with a claimed range of up to 622km and the power to recover 420km after just 30 minutes DC fast-charging.

It has two battery options starting with a 52kWh battery which offers above 440km range, according to Nissan, while the 75kWh battery offers the aforementioned 622km range. Both variants support DC fast-charging up to 105kWh and 150kWh respectively.

The all-new Leaf has also been engineered to tackle the barriers to EV adoption, delivering a motorway range of up to 330 kms at 130 kph and up to 430 kms at 110 kph, and an energy consumption as low as 13.8 kWh per 100 kilometres.

The two models are available in four grades. The 52kWh model starts at €34,995 for the Engage grade, at €36,495 for the Engage+ grade, at €39,795 for the Advance grade, and at €41,295 for the top of the range Evolve grade.

The 75kWh battery option meanwhile, starts at €39,995 for the Engage grade, at €41,495 for the Engage+ grade, at €45,795 for the Advance grade, and at €48,295 for the Evolve grade. All pricing is inclusive of applicable VRT Relief and the €3,500 SEAI grant.

The new Nissan Leaf has 437-litres of cargo space and comes with Google built-in. It is also equipped with a suite of advanced safety and driver assistance features from Intelligent Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Intervention to Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Keep Assists. Its 3D Around View Monitor, Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View make parking and navigating tight spaces easier and safer.

“The all-new Leaf is set to attract a whole new generation of EV drivers. This is the EV they have been waiting for. Its sleek new crossover look and design, extended range and connected technology is going to be a massive hit with anyone thinking of buying a new EV,” said Seamus Morgan, managing director of Nissan Ireland.

“There was phenomenal interest in this car when local dealers treated customers to a sneak peek at it last month. It is due to arrive in dealerships in March and we are currently taking pre-orders and test drive bookings,” he added.
