Visitors to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK will be among the first in Europe to see the BYD Shark pick-up in the metal, when it makes its debut from 9th-12th July.<\/p>\n

On show at Goodwood will be a 435PS Dual Mode off-road (DM-o) plug-in hybrid version of the Shark, offering a 0-100km\/h acceleration of 5.7 seconds, an electric-only range of around 90km and a towing capacity of up to 2,500kg.<\/p>\n

While no official Irish, or indeed British launch date has been confirmed, the Shark’s eventual arrival to this part of the world will mark BYD\u2019s first move into the pick-up sector, joining the Chinese automaker’s already extensive range of SUV, hatchback and saloon models.<\/p>\n

The Shark, also known in other markets as the Shark 6, has been on sale in Australia since last year where it is offered with the choice of turbocharged 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
