{"id":72614,"date":"2024-12-13T09:19:12","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T08:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/?p=72614"},"modified":"2024-12-13T17:27:58","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T16:27:58","slug":"price-hike-for-driving-licence-and-nct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/index.php\/price-hike-for-driving-licence-and-nct\/72614","title":{"rendered":"Price hike for driving licence and NCT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NCT test and retest fees are set to increase in the new year, with the cost of a driving licence also being hiked. <\/p>\n<p>The Road Safety Authority (RSA) announced that a full NCT will increase in price from \u20ac55 to \u20ac60, while a retest will now cost \u20ac40 up from \u20ac28 previously.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of a driving licence will increase by \u20ac10 from \u20ac55 to \u20ac65 while the price of a learner permit will also increase by \u20ac10 from \u20ac35 to \u20ac45.<\/p>\n<p>The commercial vehicle roadworthiness test (CVRT) will also increase by 15 per cent in the pre-VAT cost.<br \/>\nThe price changes will come into effect from January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The RSA said the fee adjustments were due to planned \u20ac18 million expenditure on &#8220;public interest activities and government priorities&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It said these will be the first price hikes since 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCT test and retest fees are set to increase in the new year, with the cost of a driving licence also being hiked.
