<\/p>\nRising traffic levels continue to put extra strain on vehicle clutch systems, so Valeo is making sure garages have easy access to its Self Adjusting Technology (SAT) clutch and has also introduced its new High Efficiency Clutch (HEC) kit to assure long-lasting repairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore stop-start driving in heavy traffic means greater clutch usage,\u201d said Andy Swann, Valeo Division General Manager. \u201cThis could potentially lead to premature clutch failure on many vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Technological development is also driving change, with modern cars needing much tougher clutches. \u201cManufacturers are producing vehicles with higher torque and higher horsepower outputs,\u201d said Swann. \u201cThis means it\u2019s imperative that the engine and transmission have the capabilities to deal with the additional load.\u201d<\/p>\n
The result has been the development and introduction of new friction materials and innovative clutch designs, including the Valeo SAT. \u201cThis uses a self-adjusting facing wear compensation device on the pressure plate,\u201d he added, \u201cthereby enhancing the clutch life and improving pedal comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n
Valeo has now also introduced the High Efficiency Clutch (HEC) kit. \u201cThis replaces our competitors\u2019 old self-adjusting clutch and gives full satisfaction in terms of quality, reliability and durability,\u201d said Swann. \u201cOur HEC high resistance Generation 5 facings are the best in the market and are well-known for their high durability.\u201d<\/p>\n
In total, Valeo produces approximately 75 million friction facings each year, but not all of these friction sets are found in Valeo clutch kits. <\/p>\n
\u201cDue to our friction material being best in class, vehicle manufacturers request that other clutch manufacturers use Valeo friction material facings in conjunction with their own clutches. In total around 30 per cent of friction facings produced by Valeo are supplied to and used by other clutch manufacturers,” Swann concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
