Motorists in Northern Ireland have been urged to book an emergency MOT test to avoid \u201ccostly fines\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA), motorists in Northern Ireland face a 72-day wait for an MOT test.<\/p>\n

In a post on Facebook, Claire Sugden, an independent politician for East Derry, said: \u201cUnfortunately booking an MOT test remains difficult for many across Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you do not have a valid MOT you are currently unable to tax your vehicle which could lead to costly fines.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn order to assist those who cannot get a test booked in time for their car tax expiring, the DVA have launched a new form where you can request an urgent MOT test.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese tests are only available to those whose tax has expired or is due to expire in the next 10 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also shared a link<\/a> to book an emergency test for those whose tax has expired or is due to imminently.<\/p>\n
