<\/p>\nFour garages from the Bosch Car Service network in the UK have entered four old cars into this year’s ‘Bangers 4 Ben’ tour of Ireland.<\/p>\n
Now in its 15th year, Bangers 4 Ben has raised more than \u00a3500,000 for the automotive industry charity Ben, which provides “life-changing support to those facing crisis as well as helping them prevent crisis”.<\/p>\n

Each year a new destination around Europe is chosen, with the teams having visited Maranello, Monaco, the F1 tracks at Spa, Silverstone, Nurburgring and The Alps in recent years.<\/p>\n
Team members must purchase a vehicle for no more than \u00a3750 which they will then drive to a defined route over a four-day period.<\/p>\n
Each car, described as a “banger”, will have a driver from a Bosch Car Service garage plus an employee from the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket UK team. The four Bosch Car Service garages involved are Central Garage in Lichfield, Lillywhite Brothers in Emsworth, Andover Car Service, and Harding Auto Services in Woking.<\/p>\n
Around 40 teams in total will attempt to get their car to the destination and back, before handing the car over to be sold at auction, with the proceeds going to Ben.<\/p>\n
This year, the participants will take in Irish landscapes such as the Wicklow Mountains, Sally Gap, Waterford Copper Coast, the Ring of Kerry, plus the Wild Atlantic Way.<\/p>\n
The teams are currently preparing their cars to leave Holyhead in Wales for Dublin this Saturday, 7th October.<\/p>\n

From a Bosch perspective, this year marks a major anniversary, with the company celebrating 125 years operating across the United Kingdom and Ireland.<\/p>\n
As part of these celebrations, Bosch has been encouraging associates from around the business to participate in a ‘125 Acts of Kindness’ challenge. From everyday ways to say thank you, like organising garden clean-ups, to climbing the Three Peaks for charity, a 125 mile cycle ride and now Bangers 4 Ben.<\/p>\n
Its associates have already completed more than 100 acts of kindness, and are on track to reach 125.<\/p>\n
