{"id":22603,"date":"2015-11-05T13:08:02","date_gmt":"2015-11-05T12:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/?p=22603"},"modified":"2015-11-05T13:08:02","modified_gmt":"2015-11-05T12:08:02","slug":"ford-motor-company-receives-irish-heritage-scroll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/index.php\/ford-motor-company-receives-irish-heritage-scroll\/22603","title":{"rendered":"Ford Motor Company receives Irish Heritage Scroll"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lord Mayors of Dublin and Cork (Cr\u00edona N\u00ed Dh\u00e1laigh and Chris O\u2019Leary) came together on Wednesday to present an Irish Heritage Scroll to\u00a0William Clay Ford Jr., Chairman of the Ford Motor Company, and great-grandson of company founder, Henry Ford.\u00a0 The Irish Heritage Scroll is in recognition of Mr. Ford\u2019s Cork ancestral roots. Henry Ford\u2019s father, also William Ford, emigrated to Michigan from Ballinascarthy, Co. Cork during the Famine in 1847 and Henry was subsequently born an American citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ford presented each Lord Mayor with a copy of the book: \u2018Are You Still Below?\u2019 \u2013 a history of the Ford factory in Cork which opened in 1917 and closed in 1984.
