<\/p>\nThe third annual Mondello Truck Show in association with Calor Gas, will take place at Mondello Park, County Kildare on September 5-6 and attendees can see all the latest cutting edge in fleet technology including the Calor LPG\/ diesel dual fuel system.<\/p>\n

Main event sponsor, Calor Gas, in association with Mercury Fuel Systems Ltd will be on hand throughout the show at their stand in the Centre Paddock, to highlight the benefits of Calor Liquefied Petroleum Gas – LPG\/Diesel dual fuel technology as a viable, low emission fuel solution for the transport and haulage sector. There will also be an opportunity to see the technology in action with two converted DAF Trucks on display.<\/p>\n
The Calor dual fuel system works by replacing up to 30% of the more expensive and carbon-intensive primary fuel (diesel) with the less expensive and lower carbon-content secondary fuel, LPG\/AutoGas. This dual-fuel technology has already delivered proven, significant economic and environmental benefits to many businesses.<\/p>\n
Tony Dent from Mercury Fuel Systems commented, \u201cThe experience of our customers shows that introducing LPG as a dual fuel will significantly reduce CO2\u00a0and other emissions. Fuel savings of around 10 \u2013 15%, with a reduction of around 6% of the CO2\u00a0generated, are common.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pascal Manley, Fleet Manager of Linwoods, has converted some of the larger units in their fleet to run on the dual fuel system. \u201cWe are always looking at ways to keep our running costs down and do our bit for the environment. Converting to the diesel\/LPG system has helped us to do both. We\u2019ve worked closely with Calor and Mercury on the conversions and continually monitor the system.\u00a0 Conversion was simple and very successful and we plan to switch more of our fleet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Calor\u2019s Mobile Solutions Manager, Damien Shirkie commented, \u201cWe are delighted to be involved in the Mondello Truck Show this year.
