Ltd to develop a world-first direct adaptive steering system. KYB will supply the electronic control unit (ECU), gear assembly and reaction motor for the new system, which is fitted to the Skyline as the first vehicle in the world to go into production with this new technology fitted.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11995 alignleft\" alt=\"logo-4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/logo-4.png\" width=\"205\" height=\"71\" \/>KYB has established an Electronics Technology Centre which will strengthen it\u2019s electronics technology by concentrating a team for the design, evaluation and manufacturing technologies for electronic components. KYB\u2019s wholly owned subsidiary KYB Trondule Co. Ltd has established a dedicated factory for vehicle-use ECUs, which are currently under production.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11994\" alt=\"KYB---Adaptive-Steering\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/KYB-Adaptive-Steering.png\" width=\"615\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/KYB-Adaptive-Steering.png 615w, https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/KYB-Adaptive-Steering-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/KYB-Adaptive-Steering-120x80.png 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 615px) 100vw, 615px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A new production line has also been established for the assembly of reaction motors and gear assembly. Moving forward, KYB will have an integrated system for electronic components which covers from product development to the prototype, evaluation and mass production stages, further strengthening it\u2019s development and manufacturing capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Conventional steering links the drivers request to the vehicle\u2019s tyres via mechanical means. The direct adaptive steering system is intuitive to the driver. It feels the force the driver applies to the steering wheel and feeds it into the ECU, which at the same time takes information from the road about what the tyres are doing. The ECU processes all this information and only feeds back to the driver what he needs to know. In real terms this means the steering wheel doesn\u2019t vibrate or jump, it stays still. The front wheels respond to even subtle changes in course.<\/p>\n<p>KYB manufactures original equipment power steering pumps for a wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
