WorldSkills Team Ireland gets pep-talk from Ray Goggins

As preparation gets underway for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 this September, the WorldSkills Team Ireland of 2026 gathered at Technological University (TU) Dublin’s city campus last weekend for a motivational talk from ex-Special Forces soldier, Ray Goggins.

The presentation by Goggins reflected on the essential attributes required for success in high performance teams, from both the individual and collective perspectives.

Ireland will be represented in the automotive technology category in Shanghai, by WorldSkills Ireland 2025 winner Kalem Redmond.

Redmond is currently preparing for the 48th WorldSkills Competition over the next 12 weeks alongside TU Dublin automotive lecturer Michael O’Connor, who called on “all the relevant industry sectors and stakeholders get fully behind these incredibly talented and dedicated young people to support them in any way possible in the weeks and months ahead”.
