Trico launches new range of beam blades
Trico®, a world leader in replacement windscreen wiper blades introduced another innovation to the European automotive aftermarket at Automechanika.
With only 10 SKUs needed to cover 90 per cent of the European car parc, the all-new TRICOFlex® range of beam blades is ideal for garages, fuel stations and retail outlets with limited display space.
Designed around the company’s patented SWIFT® connector technology, each blade comes with a set of four interchangeable adaptors that provide the versatility to keep the range to a minimum number of parts. These adaptors enable quick and easy wiper replacement whatever the vehicle arm termination. In another ‘first’ for Trico, the blade packaging includes QR code that fire video instructions onto the customer’s smartphone to simplify the installation process. Tests have shown that following the video makes the installation considerably quicker than printed instruction diagrams.
The TRICOFlex® blade’s innovative and stylish low-profile design provides a uniform wipe, and its Memory Curve Steel™ beam ensures uniform pressure throughout the sweep for a clean, clear wipe. Trico’s exclusive, award-winning dual-point coupler prevents streaking and maximises all-weather performance, with a precision-cut wiping edge tested to perform over 1.5 million cycles. Competitively priced, the range comprises just 10 part numbers, in lengths from 400mm to 700mm.
Commenting on the launch, Trico’s Director of Aftermarket Operations for Europe, Nigel Cole said: “This range marks a new strand to our business. It gives our distributors and agents the ability to sell hard into the retail sector with a product specifically designed for that sector of the market. TRICOFlex® sits between our premium and mid-range lines and provides a fantastic product at an attractive price-point. The design team in the US have worked really hard to provide a quality-manufactured product with universal appeal, at a competitive price. Early indications are very positive from the European customers to whom we’ve shown the product. We’re very excited about this launch.”
TRICOFlex® will be the first European product to be presented in the company’s new ‘pyramid’ style packaging, designed for high impact in the retail environment, and will be supported with a full range of POS and marketing collateral. Blade selection is simplified with the range catalogue available on a specifically designed ‘mobile’ blade selector that can be accessed through dedicated QR codes at the point of sale.
