Third Red Dot product design award for Combilift
Monaghan based specialist manufacturer Combilift, known for its multidirectional and customised handling solutions, has received the 2025 Red Dot Award for Product Design for its new Combi-CB70E. The high-capacity, electric-powered 7-ton multidirectional counterbalance forklift was developed to meet the demands of heavy-duty, long-load handling with a focus on sustainability.
The Red Dot Award is one of the most internationally recognised competitions for design innovation and quality. This marks the third Red Dot for Combilift, following previous wins for the Combi-WR and the ‘Best of the Best’ distinction for the Combi-CB4. The latest accolade highlights the ergonomic design, environmental performance, and operator-focused features of the Combi-CB70E, which convinced the international jury with its practical innovation.
Martin McVicar, CEO and Co-founder of Combilift, said: “We are honoured to receive our third Red Dot Award, this time for the Combi-CB70E. Our design and engineering teams continue to focus on delivering practical, safe and well-designed solutions. Increasingly, our customers are looking for electric alternatives that maintain the performance of diesel machines — the CB70E is exactly that.”

The multidirectional Combi-CB70E is a seven-tonne capacity electric counterbalance forklift, specifically designed for handling long and bulky loads in confined or challenging spaces. Equipped with Combilift’s patented Independent Traction Control System and large elastic rubber tyres, it provides all-terrain capability while maintaining zero-emission operation.
The spacious gas strut suspension cab and floor to ceiling glazing offers enhanced visibility and comfort, while the Auto Swivel Seat- which automatically swivels 15 degrees to the left or right, depending on the direction of travel- ensures optimal ergonomics and comfort for operators, even during extended shifts.
The Red Dot recognition completes a great year for Combilift. It has earned several international awards for both product innovation and leadership. These include the UKMHA Archies Awards for the ‘Product of the Year and Ergonomics’, and Engineering & Manufacturing Awards for ‘Design Team of the Year and Industry Leadership’.
With over 1,000 employees and exports to more than 85 countries, Combilift remains a key innovator in the materials handling industry, setting standards for safety, design, and operational efficiency.
This latest global recognition at the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards 2025, for the recently launched Combi-CB70E with its ergonomic design, performance, and sustainability, is just the latest chapter for a great Irish company.
