TelLab offers new kits to combat fuel fraud

An Irish company has recently introduced a new product to the market, which helps fight against fuel fraud

TelLab has recently introduced Fuelmonitrix to the market place to help fight the battle against fuel fraud.

By taking a small fuel sample, one of the new Fuelmonitrix test kits (available in packs of four) will have your answer in under two minutes.

Motorists and service stations forecourt owners worried about inadvertently buying petrol that has been stretched with kerosene or laundered diesel, now have a quick and low cost option to test fuel samples. Main Dealer Garage Franchises can also check fuel samples from customer cars returned to their garage with suspect fuel issues.

Since the 1st April 2015 the new Marker Dye Legislation SI 19 of 2015 has come into effect. This is the addition of DOW Chemical Accutrace S10 to the existing markers in Kerosene and Marked Gas Oil fuels. Accutrace S10 has been added in both Irish and UK jurisdiction in order combat the illegal activities in relation to the washing of diesel and stretching of petrol with kerosene.  

Over the last five years 35 fuel laundering plants have been shut down by the State.
In March 2015, T. E. Laboratories Ltd have developed and launched Fuelmonitrix (www.fuelmonitrix.ie), a simple, easy to use test kit that allows you tell in minutes if your petrol has been stretched with kerosene or your diesel been laundered. 

By taking a small fuel sample Fuelmonitrix test kits will have your answer in under 2 minutes. Traditionally all samples were sent to laboratories for analysis. This is time consuming and expensive. 

Fuelmonitrix test kits are low cost and require a minimal amount of training to use. In fact, TelLab has and easy to use video available on www.fuelmonitrix.ie. The use of washed diesel or petrol stretched with kerosene is illegal and can cause extensive damage to vehicle engines. Fuelmonitrix test kits are a low cost way to help prevent damage to your engine. 

The Irish Petrol Retailer Association (IPRA) have recently purchased Fuelmonitrix test kits for their members.

Recommended Retail Price for Test Kits is € 60/kit .Orders quantities for Diesel or Petrol Kits can be mixed. There are four tests per kit.
