Sun shines for Denso during annual golf day

This year, the Denso golf day combined competition on the renowned Belfry PGA National Course in England with a James Bond themed dinner, to entertain the company’s key customers and invited guests.

Hosted by longtime Denso stalwart, Nigel Cole, and including individual and team competitions, the day also featured prizes for the player nearest the pin in two shots and the longest drive, to provide plenty of opportunities for the invited guest to leave the event with a title to their name.

“Our annual golf day provides us with a highly enjoyable event during which we can both spend significant time with, as well as show our appreciation for, our valued customers from across the UK and Ireland,” explained Denso UK and Ireland sales manager, Kevin Peacocke, “and to combine on course competition with evening relaxation, makes it even better.”

He added: “We always like to theme the evening’s entertainment and who doesn’t like a good Bond movie, so the James Bond also proved to be a hit, forgive the pun, and was enthusiastically embraced by all. It’s also the time during which we reveal the winners and hand out the prizes, so it was great to share the results and see many of our guests on the edge of their seats, in eager anticipation!

“For the record, this year’s winners were, Dave Burgess (DB Autoconsultancy), Mark Blighton (MJB Motor Service) and Ronnie Cross (Denso) for the four ball competition, with Dave Burgess also taking the individual title, with Paul Westwood (Autoparts UK Dundee) the runner-up, and alongside the adulation of wining, they each received a £100 Belfry Pro-Shop voucher.

“The supplementary winners were Nick Finch (FPS), Tristan Seal (APD) again Dave Burgess, who were all nearest the pin, Nick Finch was also the winner of the longest drive, and the most enthusiast drive was made by Chris Heaton (Merlin Diesel).”

“It’s always difficult to sum up an entire day in a few words, but I’d like to thank everyone that attended, and of course the Denso team behind the event, for making it such an enjoyable occasion and we look forward to doing it again next year,” Peacocke concluded.
