Sheils Motor Group appointed BYD dealer in Clare
Motor Distributors Limited (MDL) has appointed Sheils Motor Group as a main BYD dealer for Co Clare.
Trading as BYD Clare, it will operate from its prominently located showrooms on the Gort Road, Dulick, on the northern approach into Ennis.
Established in Clare by Tommy Sheils in 1925 – great-grandfather to current Director Ted Sheils – Sheils Motor Group is one of the largest and longest-established family-owned automotive groups in Ireland.
Now in its fourth generation, Sheils employs almost 100 people throughout the group.
Sheils Motor Group has been appointed by Motor Distributors Limited (MDL) to represent BYD in Ireland. Pictured at the announcement are Sheils Motor Group Director, Ted Sheils and Managing Director, Thomas Sheils with BYD Ireland National Sales Manager, Vicky Reilly.
Commenting on the announcement, Vicky Reilly, BYD Ireland national sales manager said: “A trusted name in the Irish motoring landscape for over a century, we are delighted to expand our presence in the Munster region by welcoming Sheils Motor Group – and the extensive motoring expertise they bring – to the BYD dealer network.”
Acknowledging its Ennis appointment, director Ted Sheils, said: “It is an exciting time for us to become a representative of BYD, especially with the pace at which the popularity of the brand is growing.
“We look forward to introducing our customers in Clare to the rapidly expanding and attractive range of both Super Hybrid and all-electric BYD vehicles, all of which will soon be arriving at our showroom in Ennis.”
