Schaeffler introduces repair tool for electric powertrains
Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions has introduced the E-Axle Repair Tool, a specialised device capable of repairing electric powertrains.
According to Schaeffler, the new tool enables precise, non-contact disassembly and reassembly of rotors and stators. Instead of replacing entire motors at high cost, targeted repairs can now be performed – saving resources and supporting a sustainable circular economy.

Permanent magnets create a strong magnetic field, which can make handling the rotor difficult. The gap between the stator and the rotor, known as the ‘air gap’, is crucial for an electric motor to function properly. A smaller gap increases the motor’s efficiency.
Additionally, the magnetic force can cause the rotor to adhere to the stator, making it difficult to remove. Furthermore, permanent magnets are fragile and can be easily damaged by impact or improper handling.
The E-Axle Repair Tool is suitable for all garages focusing on electric motor repair and looking to tap into new business opportunities.
It is now available and compatible with all existing Schaeffler repair solutions and axle systems, including the E-Axle RepSystem-G and E-Axle RepSystem-M.
