Sad tragedy at dealership in Lisnaskea

A very unfortunate tragedy occurred in County Fermanagh at the Lisnaskea-based car dealership of Monaghan Brothers on Saturday last. The Belfast Telegraph reports that 51-year old father of two young daughters, George Wilson died at the scene, after he had been crushed by a runaway car at work.

His wife was among the first to arrive at the scene and the Telegraph reports that she comforted him in her arms before he died, despite the efforts of colleagues who came to his assistance

The PSNI and officials from the Health and Safety Executive  are investigating the circumstances of the fatality at the long established and popular Ford and Hyundai dealership.

The tragic accident happened after 9am on Saturday in a car park adjoining Monaghan Brothers car dealership on Main Street in Lisnaskea, Fermanagh. Mr Wilson had worked for the firm since 2009. He was a very respected man who lived in Newtownbutler all his life and was well-liked in the town. His wife, Jenny, is originally from Lisnaskea.
