Philips RCH25 – tested and recommended for all

The UK’s most respected testing forum for automotive products, Auto Express, has recently given a big thumbs up to the latest Philips workshop lamp, the RCH 25.

The RCH25 brings various key features to the workshop lamp sector, most notably, an adjustable light output to match the particular needs of a specific task. The testers also liked the RCH25’s charging dock (which can be used with Philips RCH5S workshop lamp) and its mounting flexibility, as well as the long running period – more than three hours at maximum output – compared with many others in the test.

All in all, the Philips design was thought to “tick a lot of boxes” as it earned its top three place on the test.

The RCH25 is designed with professional workshop use in mind and that brings with it other benefits that many of those products aimed primarily at domestic use, don’t offer, or have only at a lesser level. These included, primarily, the durability that being used in a professional environment demands. The RCH25 brings with it an IK09 shock resistance rating which, means in impact resistance tests, the lamp was dropped on its 6 faces from shoulder height a total of 25 times, and survived. Likewise, with an IP68 rating for resistance to water, the device will continue to work when splashed or even immersed in water for a long time.

Philips workshop lamps are constantly evolving,” explains Richard Armstrong, Business Development Manager Automotive – UK & Eire for Lumileds, who manufacture and bring Philips Automotive products to the market, globally. “It is good to see that the innovative thought that goes into the products, combined with their long-established usability, has been recognised as making them a great purchase – whether it be for the professional, or the domestic-user, who is serious about working on their cars at home.”

The range of Philips Workshop lamps offers a wide variety of lighting solutions for Professional – and home – workshop applications. From the flexible hand held or head-worn RCH6 through to the hybrid CBH51 under bonnet lamp, the Philips workshop lamps will offer the right product for the job.
