Peugeot has launched its one-ton Landtrek pickup in Latin America.

The brand however says it has no plans to sell the pickup in Europe or North America.

Developed with Chinese automaker Changan, a former joint-venture partner of PSA Group, the Landtrek is available in front-wheel or four-wheel drive, with a 2.4 litre turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 210 hp.

Peugeot says it is particularly targeting the Latin America market, where it claims 410,000 one-ton pickups were sold in 2019.

The Landtrek is expected to compete with the Nissan Frontier, Mitsubishi L200 and Toyota Hilux in the region.

Prices start at around $25k.
