Official route announced for Retro Cannonball

Retro Cannonball starts in Wexford this year at Wexford County Council County Hall on 26th May at 10am and takes in the Copper Coast to the Haven Hotel in Dunmore East, Waterford for lunch and then on the Radisson Blu Hotel in Little Island Cork for the first overnight stay.

On day two the Retro Cannonballers will make their way to Cashel for lunch at the Bru Boru Heritage Centre and then up through the Hidden Heartlands for a big finish in Tullamore.

Cannonball has already raised €1,477,052 for Irish Charities and is a much-anticipated free family event for spectators.

This year all Cannonball events will raise funds for The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, an Irish children’s charity that funds and delivers in-home nursing care, respite support and end-of-life care for children from birth to six years of age who have highly complex and life-limiting medical conditions.

There are currently over 400 children under the care of Jack and Jill right across the country and the charity’s mission is to empower parents to care for their child at home, because there is no care like home care for a Jack and Jill child.

Retro Cannonball will finish in Tullamore this year with the overall finish line at The Credit Union on Patricks Street on Saturday 27th May 6pm.

The convoy of 100 classic cars, sponsored by Tullamore Credit Union, will include some rare Jaguar E-Types. Ferrari will be well represented with a number of 348 GTS. There will also be some Mercedes-Benz SL classics, a Lancia Beta, a BMW 635CSI, a Porsche 911 Carrera and a Porsche 911 Targa, an MG Midget, a Ford Escort Cosworth, a Chevrolet Corvette, a classic VW Beetle, a Ford Thunderbird, a mini cooper and many more.
