Nissan reveals full details of electric Micra

Following on from revealing that the beloved Micra will return in the form of a full-electric vehicle, Nissan has today provided more images and details on its forthcoming small EV.

Set to go on sale before the end of 2025 – with pricing to be confirmed closer to then, the new Nissan Micra signals the next major step in the brand’s product offensive in Europe, where the company will introduce four new fully electric models by 2027 as part of its push towards electrification.

These include the Micra, followed by a new Leaf, Juke, and another small city car, as well as the upgraded third generation of Nissan’s e-Power technology – to be rolled out on the best-selling Qashqai.

New Micra
The new Micra EV will be available with the choice of a 40kWh and 52kWh battery, with quoted ranges of between 310 and 408 kilometres. The smaller battery has 90kW of power and 225Nm of torque, while the larger 52kWh battery produces an output of 110kW and 245Nm.

Max DC fast charging is 100kW or 80kw on the 40kWh version. The new Micra will also be equipped with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology on both battery versions.

All new Micra grades will come with 18-inch wheels, with three different options depending on grade: ‘active’ wheel covers, ‘Iconic’ and ‘Sport’ alloy wheel designs.

Nissan is offering a palette of 14 exterior colour combinations, including two-tone colour options depending on the grade.

The new electric Micra is four-metres in length and less than 1.8-metres wide, with a wheelbase of 2.54-metres. It will only be available in a five-door configuration, and weighs around 1.5-tonnes.

Nissan says front seat passengers in particular will enjoy “a sense of spacious luxury”, with seats said to offer exceptional support and plenty of distance between their knees and the uncluttered dashboard, finished in soft-touch materials.

Boot capacity is 326-litres, while rear seats can be folded 40/60 to extend that up to 1106-litres as needed.

The new Nissan Micra comes with a pair of 10.1-inch digital displays with Google built-in, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard.
