Nissan Leaf tops used EV reliability study

The Nissan Leaf has again been named the UK’s most reliable used electric car, following a study of electric vehicle (EV) repairs across the region.

The analysis by Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) took in a sample of 1,000 real-world repair claims paid by the company on EV warranties issued between January and December 2025.

The resulting data highlights significant differences in both fault rates and repair costs across the UK’s most popular electric models – offering valuable insights for drivers and dealers alike.

The Nissan Leaf topped the reliability rankings with a low claim rate of just 1.52 per cent.

Martin Binnee, operations director of WSG, said the Leaf’s “long-established electric drivetrain, straightforward engineering and proven track record for durability have all contributed to its standout reliability, continuing to translate into dependable ownership and fewer faults”.
