New website celebrates Ulster group’s 50th anniversary
The year 1975 saw the launch of the Ferrari 308, the Triumph TR7 and the Vauxhall Cavalier. It also saw the launch of the Ulster Motoring Writers Association (UMWA).
Over the past 50 years, UMWA, as it became known, has covered all the major happenings in the motor industry with members supplying copy to all the top papers, magazines, television and radio stations in Northern Ireland.
The current members’ outlets continue to span an impressive selection of Northern Ireland’s print and digital media. Now, the new website takes the group to a new level with comprehensive details of the members including their publications and contact details.

UMWA Chairman Jim McCauley
UMWA Chairman Jim McCauley said: “We traditionally produced an UMWA Yearbook every other year, but to move with the times and to celebrate our 50th anniversary we have launched a new website.
“It features the broad span of our member’s outlets as well as providing contact details for all of our members. This new website is a means to keep UMWA to the forefront of providing responsible car reviews.”
The new UMWA website can be accessed here.
