LuK takes to the road with RepSet® 2CT


Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket has been on-the-road demonstrating its new repair solution for dry double clutch systems with the LuK RepSet® 2CT for Renault vehicles fitted with the DC4 6-speed transmission.

This new product enables independent garages to repair dry double clutch systems on Renault Mégane III and Scénic III models powered by K9K engines and has attracted a lot of interest in both the UK and Ireland.

The company has recently demonstrated the new repair solution at the MechanEx Show at Sandown Park together with the LuK Special Tool for the professional removal and installation of the double clutch installed in these vehicles.

Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd Technical Services Manager Malcolm Short said: “There was a lot of interest shown by garages in the new repair solution at MechanEx. We carried out numerous demonstrations on the DC4 6-speed transmission for Renault engines as well as demonstrating our other LuK clutch, INA tensioner and FAG wheel bearing products and explaining how they can best be used in the workshop.”

The company is now looking forward to helping train the best independent garages at AutoInform Live this month.

The interactive weekend event is being held at the state-of-the-art GTG Training Academy in Wolverhampton on November 29 & 30.

With the introduction of the latest LuK RepSet® 2CT repair solution, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket continues to expand its portfolio for repairing dry double clutch systems having already introduced a dry double clutch repair solution for Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen vehicles with a 7-speed transmission.

All of these LuK RepSet® 2CT repair solutions are said to offer a complete and practical repair solution and as well as the double clutch, they provide the precision-tuned components required for a professional repair.

As wear can also be expected in engagement systems, a LuK RepSet® 2CT includes not only guide sleeve, snap rings and fastening screws, but also engagement levers and engagement bearings.

The LuK Double Clutch Tool has also been redesigned, and now allows for the addition of add-on modules to make professional repairs for LuK dry double clutch systems now and in the future.

The basic tool set can be embellished with modules that contain the specific tools needed to repair dry double clutch systems for each vehicle manufacturer. The basic tool set, when combined with any of the vehicle specific tool modules, offers a truly complete solution.

LuK has also developed a solution for those customers who already own the original 2CT tool (400 0240 10). A special module has been designed which, when combined with the original tool set, ensures the same technical standard.

Together with a comprehensive training package, technical brochures, detailed repair instructions and training videos showing how to replace a double clutch – Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket now gives independent garages the ability to repair LuK double clutch systems.
