Hyundai’s Genesis to abandon agency sales model in Europe

Hyundai Motor Company’s luxury car brand Genesis, is set to abandon a direct-sales model in Europe in favour of a conventional dealer retail system.

In doing so, Genesis will become the latest automaker to reverse its agency model decision following Volkswagen Group in Ireland and Stellantis in selected European markets.

While Genesis does not currently sell cars in Ireland, the automaker aims to enter new European markets in an effort to bolster sales.

It cited the need for dealer market knowledge, as a reason for its direct-sales model u-turn.
