GS Yuasa selected as OE partner for new Toyota RAV4

GS Yuasa’s newly developed EHW4GA automotive lithium-ion battery has been selected as original equipment (OE) for hybrid models of the all-new Toyota RAV4.

Developed with advanced low-resistance technology, GS Yuasa says the new battery delivers over 10 per cent improvements in both energy density and input/output performance, optimising efficiency for hybrid systems.

The cells and modules are manufactured by Blue Energy Co., Ltd., a GS Yuasa Group company, with further enhancements including a newly designed die-cast module case to reduce weight and component count.

GS Yuasa said this innovation builds on its extensive expertise in lithium-ion technology. Since establishing Blue Energy in 2009, the Group has supplied batteries for over four million hybrid vehicles worldwide.
