Glasurit, BASF’s premium paint brand is set to exhibit at Automechanika in Frankfurt Germany, September 11-15.
Automechanika, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for the automotive aftermarket takes place every two years alternating with the IAA (international automobile exhibition) – this year for the twenty-fifth time. The Glasurit booth will be part of the booth of the German Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs (ZDK) in the classic cars hall.
This is the first time that the classic and vintage cars have its own hall covering the complete value chain. The Glasurit booth will focus on the network of specialized body shops and innovation. It will provide information on the body shop network of Glasurit Classic Car Colors and the members’ advantages.
One of the world’s largest colour databases allows painters to restore cars with authentic colours. The online database lists body shops specializing in the restoration of classic cars. The body shops profit from the networking with car owners, professional partners and paint experts.
Being a global partner of FIVA, Glasurit says it knows the special needs of the classic car scene inside out. To demonstrate this, Glasurit will showcase a 356 Porsche Roadster with a new finish that has been artificially aged using a specifically developed new process. Glasurit body shops can therefore offer their customers the perfect alternative to the “better than new” look.
The Ratio Scan 12/6 spectrophotometer that will be presented at the Automechanika also demonstrates that tradition and innovation do not exclude each other. The device can measure the colour of any car exactly. An expert at the Glasurit booth will demonstrate how the instrument works and why it accelerates working processes.
The broad portfolio of services and paint systems is Glasurit’s answer to the increasing demand for classic cars and their maintenance and repair. Moreover, visitors can get information about other products of BASF’s premium paint brand and about the advantages of the network. At several locations at the trade fair, classic cars refinished by Glasurit network partners will provide a “classic flair”.
In addition, Jürgen Book, Classic Cars at Glasurit, will participate in two panel discussions. On the first trade fair day at 13:00, he and Prof. Mario Theissen, FIVA Vice President, will open the central event area in hall 12.1. Both will talk about the advantages of the cooperation between Glasurit and FIVA for the classic car scene. On the second trade fair day at 13:00, Book will participate in a book presentation of Vogel Business Media as a co-author.
