Ford to recall 26,000 Kuga PHEVs globally over battery concern
Ford is to recall around 26,000 of its new Kuga plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models globally over fears of over-heating batteries.
The manufacturer tells us there are 329 new Kuga PHEVs in Ireland affected. Owners will be getting a letter this week in relation to the issue.
Ford says the owners will be asked to bring their vehicle to a Ford dealer and a new manifold and heat shield will be fitted, which will rectify the potential problem.
Ford suspended global sales of its new Kuga plug-in hybrid after four fires were linked to over-heating batteries.
