First ever Range Rover Electric has starting price of €160,620

Range Rover has revealed its first ever all-electric model, joining the petrol, diesel and hybrid versions in the lineup.

The Range Rover Electric will be manufactured in Solihull and will be offered with a choice of short- or long-wheelbase body designs in SE, HSE and Autobiography specifications, as well as SV, SV Ultra and SV Black.

Retail pricing starts from €160,620, rising to over €325,000 for the top of the range. Irish order books are now open.

The Range Rover Electric is powered by a usable 118.5kWh lithium-ion double-stack battery with 800-volt architecture.

It features twin permanent magnet 260kW electric motors generating up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque.

While Range Rover quotes a maximum range of 600km, it admits that a “real-world range” of up to 535km is more likely.

It promises DC charging speeds of up to 350kW and 22kW for AC chargers.

Managing director Martin Limpert, said the Range Rover Electric is the brand’s “most accomplished” model yet.

“Range Rover Electric is the result of a decade of considered engineering and technological development, setting a new benchmark for the original luxury SUV.

“At the same time, Range Rover breadth of capability is uncompromised thanks to the combination of a powerful, adaptable electric powertrain and advanced chassis technologies that make every Range Rover peerless, accomplished and desired.

“We took our testing and development programmes even further than originally intended to ensure Range Rover Electric is genuinely the most accomplished Range Rover ever,” he said.
