Fiat Ireland set to restructure operations

Fiat Group Automobile Ireland is drawing up a restructuring plan, which is expected to include job losses.

It is understood that local management is drawing up a restructuring plan, which will be presented to the parent company in Turin Italy.

The likely number of job losses is not known, but it is believed that it will be a sizeable percentage of the 32 currently employed.

It seems unlikely that the restructuring plan would see Fiat move from its existing premises on the Naas Road, where a new dealership is due to open in July.

The dealership will be operated by Tallaght Fiat.
