ESB ecars defers charging plan

ESB ecars, the company which runs the public charging network in Ireland, has postponed plans to introduce charging for standard public chargers due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The company introduced charging on its fast-charge network last November, and had plans to introduce charging on its standard, 22kwAC network.

ESB ecars has now confirmed that it has deferred plans to introduce charges on its standard charging network.

The company has also confirmed that demand for charging has fallen by two-thirds (66 per cent) since the beginning of the COVID 19 crisis.
