Continental adds new Insignia and XC40 timing belt kits

Continental has expanded its aftermarket parts range with the addition of two new timing belt kits for use in the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia and the Volvo XC40.

Continental says both of the new timing belt kits offer workshops all-in-one solutions they can rely on for replacing belts on these key models.

CT1247K1 kit for Volvo XC40
The CT1247K1 kit for Volvo XC40 models manufactured since 2018 with either a 1.5-litre petrol engine or hybrid drive system covers around 250,000 vehicles on Europe’s roads. All the components and small parts required to replace the belt are included: two sealing rings for the camshaft adjusters, plus a bolt and nut for the tensioner pulley. Workshops therefore benefit from simple installation and the high quality expected of Continental without having to purchase any additional parts.

CT1220K1 kit for Opel Insignia
The CT1220K1 kit can potentially be used for servicing some 200,000 vehicles across Europe. It is suitable for various Opel Insignia 2.0 CDTI diesel models built from 2014. Unlike many other kits, the CT1220K1 does not include the sprocket for the camshaft, as this only needs to be replaced in the event of damage or wear. This allows workshops to save costs and avoid replacing parts unnecessarily – without having to compromise on safety or functionality.

Continental adds that the two new kits fit seamlessly into its extensive range of replacement parts, providing workshop professionals with efficient, high-quality solutions for maintenance and repair.
