Conal O’Brien, R.I.P.


Conal O’Brien, shareholder and director of the OHM Group died at the Beacon Hospital on Saturday morning last. He lived in Ranelagh in Dublin and was aged 75 years.

Our sincere sympathies go to his beloved wife Rose Mary, sons Niall, Eoin, Conn and Rory, and daughter Iseult, Also to his son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and all his relatives, work colleagues and many friends.

The funeral arrangements are: Removal on Tuesday evening to Church of the Sacred Heart Donnybrook arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by cremation at Mount Jerome. Family flowers only, please.

A founding partner of the OHM Group in early seventies, Conal O’Brien was a member of the OHM Group main board for over 40 years and is a director of all its subsidiary companies. He was a law graduate from University College Dublin (B.C.L.), and he qualified as a Barrister-at-Law at the King’s Inns in Dublin.

Fellow directors and shareholders at OHM Group, Declan Mc Court and Gabriel Hogan told the Auto Trade Journal that, “Conal was a partner, friend and colleague to many people who work and have worked in the company since it started in 1971. He was pivotal in its formation and his entrepreneurial flair and strategic vision were key ingredients in our development over the last forty years. He will be greatly missed.”.
