Brembo expands aftermarket braking programme for Europe

Brembo continues to strengthen its position in the European automotive aftermarket with an increasingly comprehensive braking programme designed to cater for everything from everyday replacement and electric vehicles to high-performance applications.

The company’s aftermarket strategy is now built around a number of clearly defined product families – Essential, Prime, Beyond, Xtra and Upgrade – giving distributors, motor factors and workshops access to braking solutions for different vehicle and customer requirements.

At the heart of the replacement programme is Brembo Prime, developed for motorists looking for OE-quality replacement components. The range includes brake discs, two-piece discs, integrated bearing kits, pads, brake fluid and LCV calipers. Brembo continues to add new applications to Prime as it extends coverage of the European vehicle parc.

Of particular interest to the rapidly changing aftermarket is Brembo Beyond. The range includes the Beyond EV Kit, specifically developed for battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, with an emphasis on corrosion resistance, quiet operation and durability.

The Beyond family also incorporates Greenance, combining specially developed discs and pads to reduce brake particulate emissions while extending component life and potentially lowering maintenance costs. This is becoming increasingly significant as attention turns towards non-exhaust vehicle emissions, including brake dust.

For drivers seeking increased performance, Brembo Xtra provides a comprehensive upgrade route. The programme includes Xtra, Max and Sport discs, Xtra pads, Xtra Ceramic pads, X-Style calipers and Xtra brake fluid. Brembo says the Xtra pad and disc programme offers around 60 per cent vehicle-parc coverage, with more than 300 disc references and 200 pad references.

At the upper end sits Brembo Upgrade, bringing technology influenced by the company’s high-performance and motorsport expertise to enthusiast road and track-day applications.

The result is a particularly broad European aftermarket proposition. Rather than concentrating solely on replacement pads and discs, Brembo is positioning itself as a complete braking solutions supplier, covering traditional vehicles, EVs, high-mileage applications and the growing performance aftermarket.
