Volkswagen Group to expand Slovakia plant
Word has it that Volkswagen Group will invest up to half a billion euros to update and extend its plant in Slovakia. Various major work projects will commence at the factory before the summer.
The plant is where the VW Up, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii minicars are built. The VW Touareg and Audi Q7 large SUVs are also manufactured there, as are Porsche Cayenne bodies.
Their expertise in this sector gives rise to the rumour that it will also have bodies for Bentley’s first ever SUV, the Bentayga manufactured there from late this year.
