Volkswagen dealership partners Lions Club initiative
Last night the large Volkswagen car showroom at John Keane & Sons dealership, in Roscommon town was full to capacity.
The massive crowd were there to support the formal launch of Roscommon Lions Club defibrillator project and meet Irish rugby superstar Jonathan Sexton, and his fellow international Fergus McFadden. Both players are Volkswagen ambassadors and true gentlemen.
After all the press interviews and formalities, both Jonathan and Fergus stayed until at lease three to four hundred children and youths had their jerseys, rugby ball, etc. autographed and photos taken with them. It was a wonderful occasion and their friendliness and access to everyone was proof that Volkswagen had indeed two great ambassadors for their brand.
Dealer Principle John Keane told AutoTrade.ie: “Volkswagen and ourselves were delighted to partner with Roscommon Lions Club in the launch of this important initiative for all the people of Roscommon. The large attendance was a recognition of the value of this worthy local initiative and the drawing power of two great rugby players”.
The Roscommon Lions
Roscommon Lions Club have been the driving force behind the purchase and installation of public Defibrillators accessible to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year.
The Defibrillators are being installed this week and will be maintained in a safe location available for use by members of the public in an emergency. In conjunction with the purchase and installation of the defibrillators the Lions Club is organising training courses for the employees of the premises where the defibrillators are located and also for members of the public. Already members of the public are signing up to participate in the training courses.
Sean Mahon from Roscommon Lion Club said: “In conjunction with the launch of the defibrillator project the Lions Club will be producing credit card sized leaflet with a map detailing the location of the public defibrillators, and also erecting a map of the town detailing not only the public defibrillators erected by the Lions Club but also the whereabouts of the numerous other defibrillators in the town which are not accessible to the wider public outside of working hours.
