Valeo, the leading automotive component supplier for the independent aftermarket has once again shown its support for the next generation of vehicle engineers and technicians.
The Redditch-based company has donated three of its ClimTest units, which are used for diagnosis and fault-finding on vehicle air conditioning and climate control units, to North-East Worcestershire (NEW) College.
The College’s Bromsgrove campus offers a variety of full-time and part-time (Apprenticeship) courses at levels 1, 2 and 3 in light and heavy vehicle and motorcycle maintenance and repair, and vehicle fitting principles, preparing students for further study and automotive careers. Around 200 students are enrolled in these courses at any one time.
The ClimTest units will provide valuable practical experience to students who will use the equipment to diagnose faults on real vehicles and then implement the appropriate corrective action or repair.
Valeo Service has enjoyed a long and mutually rewarding partnership with NEW College. During this partnership, lecturers from NEW College have run bespoke courses for the Valeo team to assist them with handling warranty claims. Meanwhile Valeo has provided a range of its OE components to the college so students can gain additional experience in fitting and technical issues.
