Southside Motor Factors in Dublin has created a visual asset
on the serious yet under-discussed topic of driver fatigue.
Drink-driving has become taboo in recent years and driving while tired can be every bit as dangerous as doing so on the back of multiple units of alcohol. In fact, driver fatigue is responsible for more collisions on European roads than speeding, adverse weather, mechanical faults and tyre blowouts combined.
Also, it can be difficult to quantify tiredness, especially when a person is convinced that they are not too exhausted to drive. However, tragedies have happened because of people believing that they were OK to drive when they were falling asleep at the wheel, and these tragedies are all too preventable with a change in attitudes towards driver fatigue.
