The petrol-stretching scam, which started in the West of Ireland, border regions and and the midlands, has spread throughout the country, AutoTrade.ie can reveal.

The scam, which was exclusively exposed on AutoTrade.ie earlier this week, and has been picked up by national media, is spreading across the country like wild-fire and is wreaking havoc on unsuspecting motorists.

AutoTrade.ie has learned that 100s of cars, right across the country have been affected by the petrol-stretching scam. Petrol-stretching involves adding up to 10 per cent by volume of Kerosene to petrol to increase retailer margins.
