During the process of fitting a new crankshaft pulley or refitment of the original pulley, the fixing bolts often get over torqued, this causes the bolts to stretch and deform outside of the manufacturer’s specifications . This can lead to an increased risk of the fixing bolts failing either by snapping or failing to hold the pulley to the crankshaft at the correct torque setting.

NTN-SNR strongly recommends the bolts are replaced with the crankshaft pulley.

Crankshaft pulley bolts and washers should always be replaced to reduce the risk of failure.
