Skoda Ireland boast that a better, more spacious, safer, more connected car will be launch here in June. It is the fourth generation of their best-selling model. It will have a larger boot.
The Czech Republic manufacturer’s new interior concept combines more promised space and functionality with better materials. Skoda claims that innovative connectivity and new assistance systems raise comfort and safety to an even higher level.
The Octavia will be available in Ireland from June 8th, 2020. Irish specifications have yet to be finalised however as with other models in the range, and with current customer demand for higher specification models, Skoda says that it expects to discontinue the entry ‘Active version and offer ‘Ambition’ and ‘Style’ specifications from launch.
When it comes to engines, the 1.5 TSI, 150 bhp petrol will be offered initially with the 1.0 TSI versions arriving later. Diesel-wise a 2.0 TDI, 150 bhp with 7-speed DSG transmission will be offered while the familiar 1.6 TDI, 115 bhp diesel engine is expected to make way for a 2.0 TDI variant with the same power output.
Prices have yet to be confirmed but are estimated to start at just under €29,000 for the hatchback 2.0 TDI 115bhp Ambition version.
