Gowan Distributors, Peugeot importer in Ireland, has appointed Jana Solovjova to the position of marketing manager. She takes up the reins from Emma Toner, who moves to Opel Ireland, acquired by Gowan Group late last year.
Solovjova will be charged with overseeing a national marketing and communications strategy to ensure the Peugeot brand continues its strategic growth path.
Solovjova brings with her a wealth of experience across a broad range of sectors, including tourism, FMCG, professional services, retail and automotive.
Digital and communications manager at Nissan Ireland for four years and having worked previously at the Maxol Group, Tourism Ireland and Diageo, Solovjova has proven strength in strategic planning, digital marketing, campaign management and public relations.
Originally from Tallinn, Estonia, Solovjova moved to Ireland in 2000.
Des Cannon, managing director at Gowan said: “Jana is a wonderful addition to the Peugeot team, bringing wide-based knowledge and strong commercial acumen. She joins us at a very exciting time, as the brand embarks on its electrification journey in 2020 with the introduction of our new range of electric and plug-in hybrid cars and vans.
“As such, her understanding of digital touchpoints will undoubtedly perfect our customers’ online experience. We are very fortunate to find someone of this calibre to fulfil this role and I wish Jana much success here at Gowan Distributors.”
Solovjova’s appointment comes at a time when the lion-brand is enjoying strong consumer interest across its multi-award-winning range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Celebrating the recent crowing of the all-new Peugeot 208, Car of the Year 2020, the company is launching the all-new Peugeot 2008 SUV this month. The Peugeot Partner is Ireland’s best-selling van year-to-date 2020.
