Land Rover tells us that a new ultra-versatile commercial version of their Discovery has now gone on sale in Ireland with good specification levels. It is priced from €52,695 ex-delivery (VAT at €9,737) in Ireland,
Featuring 1,856 litres of hardwearing and flexible load space replacing the second and third row seats, the new Discovery affords driver and passenger premium levels of comfort and entertainment.
Available with Land Rover’s 3.0D TD6 258hp engine, Discovery Commercial shares the fundamental underpinnings of the Discovery, from its wide-spaced double-wishbone design at the front to its advanced multi-link layout at the rear, the Discovery Commercial’s suspension delivers more responsive handling without compromising Land Rover’s hallmark all-terrain capability and makes all journeys confident, comfortable and engaging.
The Discovery Commercial comes exclusively with four wheel drive, automatic transmission, twin-speed transfer box and air suspension. Fitted solely with Discovery’s front row seating; driver comfort and convenience remain unchanged with the HSE model featuring heated seats and a ‘Cold Climate’ pack as standard. The latter includes, heated windscreen, heated washer jets and heated steering wheel.
Accessed by a powered tailgate and benefiting from Discovery’s innovative powered inner tailgate, Discovery Commercial’s load-space measures 1,635mm long, 939mm high and 1,411mm wide. The boot aperture is large enough to accept loads measuring up to 1000 x 735mm.
The Discovery Commercial comes with Land Rover’s unique ‘Terrain Response’ systems which optimise the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, centre differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the terrain.
Retaining the exterior design of Discovery, rear window concealment panels are masked by privacy glass so Discovery Commercial can be undistinguishable as a commercial vehicle if desired.
Land Rover says that the Discovery Commercial features a host of technology, convenience features and driver aids necessary when transporting loads for business. InControl Protect, cruise control and speed limiter, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, heated door mirrors, DAB radio & LR enhanced sound system (250w), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill launch assist (HLA), dynamic stability control (DSC), roll stability control (RSC), cornering brake control (CBC), gradient acceleration control (GAC), hill descent control (HDC) and trailer stability assist (TSA), all come as standard.
19″ alloy wheels, a reduced section alloy spare wheel, rear park aid, rain sensing windscreen wipers, automatic headlights, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror, ‘Navigation Pro’, ‘InControl Protect’, power fold mirrors, power tailgate, two-zone climate control and an upper secondary glovebox are also standard.
The Discovery Commercial is available in SE and HSE specifications across the 3.0 TD6 model. The price jump from the entry-level SE to the still higher spec HSE version +€6,305.
