New Fiat 600 from €28,995

The new Fiat 600 has just been launched in Ireland, and is available now in both hybrid and fully-electric with prices starting from €28,995.

The new Fiat 600, also referred to as the 500’s bigger sister, takes its name from the original 600. The Italian brand’s new five-door model has up to 385 litres of boot capacity and is 4.17 metres long, marking Fiat’s return to the B-segment.

Built on the advanced CMP2 platform, the hybrid version uses a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine equipped with a 48-volt hybrid electric motor and six-speed automatic gearbox (e-DCT), helping churn out 100 horsepower and acceleration to 100 km/h in around 11 seconds.

Priced here from €32,995, the all-electric Fiat 600e uses a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery that can achieve more than 400 km in the WLTP combined cycle and more than 600 km in the urban cycle, according to the brand.

Fiat’s new 600e is equipped with a 100-kW fast charger system and comes with a 11kW On Board Charger and a Mode 3 cable for charging at home or in public, which the brand says ensures a full charge in less than six hours.

The electric powertrain has an output of 115 kW, providing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in nine seconds. The new Fiat 600e gives drivers the choice of three driving modes – eco, normal, sport.

Compared to the 500, the new Fiat 600 features a sharper and more assertive face, a 600-chrome refreshed signature both on the front and on the sides, and a renewed LED lighting identity. The exterior look is enhanced by the bigger wheels (up to 18 inch and a diameter of 690mm), black matt skirts and wheel arches. Several charming features highlight its exterior lines, such as the glossy black details, chrome accents and shining cues on the rear lights.

Inside, with the more expensive ‘La Prima’ version, the driver seat is equipped with seat adjustment power and a back-massage function. The ‘La Prima’ spec offers Ivory synthetic leather seats with Fiat monogram with turquoise accents and three-stage heating. There is also 15 litres of interior storage as standard.

Velour floor mats, 40/60 rear seats, USB type A & type C + type C on second row, a wireless charger for smartphone and keyless entry with proximity sensor, are all available.

Standard features include a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a seven-inch digital instrument screen, cruise control, keyless start, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and air conditioning.

Elsewhere, the new 600 offers level two assisted driving, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Stop&Go function, electric parking brake, autonomous emergency braking and drowsy driver detection to monitor driver concentration levels.

John Saunders, managing director at Fiat Ireland, said: “We are excited to introduce the stunning new Fiat 600 to our lineup. Building on the enduring popularity of the iconic 500 among Irish drivers, we believe this new model will resonate just as strongly.

“Arriving just in time for the 242-registration period, we are confident that the Fiat 600 will significantly boost our market share in Ireland.”
