New comprehensive multimeter for automotive technicians

Laser Tools has launched a new digital automotive multimeter (8984), a high-performance diagnostic tool designed for professional use, offering 15 essential functions to accurately measure various electrical parameters.

These include VDC, VAC, AC/DC amps, Ohms, RPM, dwell, duty cycle, frequency, dual temperature measurement, capacitance, pulse width, diode check, and continuity test. It features a large 20mm main display with bar graph and switchable backlight for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.

Data Management: features data hold, auto-ranging, minimum/maximum readings, and peak measurement to capture critical data without constant screen monitoring. Supplied with an induction pickup for accurate RPM measurements.

Two methods of measuring temperature: with the built-in infrared temperature module, this multimeter allows for non-contact temperature readings from up to 800mm away—ideal for diagnosing cooling systems, A/C performance, and EV battery surface temperatures. Or use the supplied thermocouple for direct-contact temperature measurement.

The integral flip-down stand offers hands-free use and the multimeter is supplied in a protective carry case for safe, secure storage and easy portability. Includes test leads and a 9V battery. Safety Rating: CE compliant; rated for CAT III and CAT IV environments.
