Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross passes 80,000 global sales with updates for 2019


A year after its introduction, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has passed the 80,000 global sales milestone and adds new updates for 2019.

First launched in Europe, Japan and then the US in early 2018, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has been a hit around the world, thanks to a fusion of SUV functionality and stylish coupe styling.

Cumulative sales volume 2018:

Europe: 33,287 sales
North America: 33,287 sales
AUS/NZ: 9,332 sales
Japan: 11,592 sales
Others: 11,877 sales

Mitsubishi Motors’ first foray into the Coupe SUV segment, the Eclipse Cross is winning customers over with its style with customer surveys proving that ‘Design’ is listed as the main reason for purchase.

For 2019, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK will continue to delight buyers with new features and options to make the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross even more attractive, these include:

  • ‘Black Edition’ variants – Limited to just 500 units
  • On-board “Mitsubishi Connect” telematics (Eclipse Cross Black Connected Edition)
  • New machine-finished 16” alloy wheels (Eclipse Cross 2)
  • Active Yaw Brake Control available for 2WD versions
  • Auto-dimming rear view mirror (Eclipse Cross 3 & 4)
  • Lightning Blue pearlescent paint option available across the range

The prestigious RJC prize is awarded by RJC’s expert members, with the winner chosen from all Japanese models launched on the domestic market. Judges praised the sharp looks, excellent rough road performance and well-balanced drivability of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
