Michelin reminds motorists of new EU Tyre labelling regulations

Michelin is reminding motorists that new European tyre labelling regulations will come into force from 1 November next.

From that date, all new tyres sold must carry a label that provides consumers with information about three important tyre performance parameters – wet grip, fuel efficiency and external rolling noise.

The labels, adhered to the tyre’s tread surface, are designed in a clear, easy-to-read format in which symbols and colours will be used to convey the essential information – very similar to those seen on household electrical items like TVs, fridges and washing machines.

All Michelin tyres manufactured since 1 July this year – including their recently introduced Energy Saver+ and Agilis+ car and van tyre ranges – have been supplied with the new labels in place.
