Testing the advanced LU 701 brake material in comparative dyno tests with other brake pads from different reputable friction material manufacturers – including a true OES provider – the findings demonstrated the importance of quality above all else. The exhibition also marks the first time that the market will be able to see the new ‘Green Coat’ technology that Lumag state will change the basics of commercial vehicle braking forever. Marking a significant investment for Lumag, including a new Green Coat production line at its Budzyń factory, which screen prints the semi-liquid material on to the surface of the friction material, this development is setting the new benchmark in brake pad technology as it reduces the braking distance by 3 metres (during the breaking in of newly installed brake pads at speeds from 50 to 0 kph).
