Industry icon passes away

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing yesterday (March 17) of Steve Fisher from Apec Braking.

Steve had been battling Covid-19 for several weeks and ultimately succumbed despite fighting right to the end.

Steve dedicated his career to Apec and his imprint was all over the business. He was no stranger to Ireland having spent many years visiting Motor Factors throughout the country, forging relationships and extending support allowing others to thrive.

Whether it was dinners, drinks, or a round of golf, Steve always made himself available to meet those whom he could help. He was always generous with his time and never looked for the limelight.

Terry Knox, Managing Director of CD Group, commented: “Apec has been a supplier to our family business for 28 years, over which time Steve became so much more than that.

“He was tough but fair and as a family we valued his input and his friendship.

“St Patrick’s Day will forever hold a tinge of sadness for me now, but I will raise a glass to remember my friend and I am sure many more will too.”

Steve is survived by his wife Marsha and children Tom and Alice.
