Gowan Auto brands line up for National Ploughing Championships
Gowan Auto, the importer and distributor of Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Honda, Jeep, Opel and Peugeot in the Republic of Ireland, is set to return to the National Ploughing Championships next week.
At the event in Co Laois, Gowan Auto will be exhibiting 45 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles selected from across its brands.
Citroen will display 11 vehicles including new fully-electric e-C4 X, which has a claimed range of 360km and is due to arrive here in petrol and diesel later this year.
The French marque will also display the C4, C5 Aircross SUV and C5 X, Irish Large Crossover/SUV of the year 2023.
The Citroen commercial vehicle range will also be on show including the Berlingo Van, e-Dispatch, Relay and the all-new C5 Aircross Commercial SUV, which offers optimal comfort alongside 2.2 m3 of load space.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to see the Citroen AMI. At just 2.41m long, 1.39m wide and 1.52m high, the fully electric vehicle is said by the brand to be a “real breakthrough in urban mobility solutions”, with a driving range of 75km and a top speed of 45km/h.

The AMI has space for the driver, a passenger and one small item of luggage, and will debut in Ireland soon.
Meanwhile, DS Automobiles will showcase the DS 4 and DS 7 plug-in hybrids at the Gowan Auto stand, while Fiat will display its Fiat 500 and 500X ranges, and Fiat Professional will showcase its range of light commercial vehicles, including the Doblo, Scudo and Ducato.

The new Jeep Avenger
Alfa Romeo will exhibit the Tonale, in both mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid guises, while the new all-electric Jeep Avenger will make its public debut at the National Ploughing Championships.
Opel will display the Corsa, the Crossland, the new Mokka, the new Grandland and the new Astra, Irish Compact Car of the Year 2023, together with the Combo Life Electric 7-seater and Vivaro Electric Combi MPV.
The new GSe sub-brand will be unveiled to the Irish public at the show in both Astra and Grandland guise, whilst the Opel light commercial range will also feature, including the Combo, Vivaro and Movano.
Peugeot, a regular exhibitor at the National Ploughing Championships, will display 10 vehicles across the range at this year’s show, including the all-new Peugeot 408.
Joining the 408 will be the e-308, the e-208, the e-2008, 3008 and 5008 SUVs, the 508, and the e-Expert and e-Partner.
